Say Something…

Ok, I think I will.  Actually, now that I think about it, I have a lot to say.  A lot to say, but often time those words and thoughts are left in the dust.  You see, I heard in a movie once, “You’re a writer if you’ve got something to say.”  If you know that movie, then we can be best friends!

I have shied away from writing for most of my life.  Fearing that my words would go unread, especially by me.  That the words wouldn’t be right.  I would be too vulnerable.  I’ve started more journals than I can count.  One, two, three pages at most, trying my best to write.  To think of something to jot down.  Thoughts?  Prayers?  I never knew.  I wasted a lot of paper.  On nothing.

Raising children has taught me more than I ever imagined.  It’s shown me that I do have a voice and I do have a lot to say.  The words pour out when you are passionate about something.  I am incredibly passionate about my kids.  But in being a mother and always wanting to be an encourager, I found that wasn’t the only thing I would be passionate about.  Encouraging anyone that needs it.  Shouting as loudly as possible, “You are not a failure!”.  Not at parenting.  Not at marriage.  Not as an employee.  Not with your nutrition.  We just hit some bumps along the way and we need people in our lives that can help us through.  To give that hug and let you know that you are going to succeed.

That’s what I am here to say.  To write down how I have navigated through this world and be darn sure you know about the bumps I have hit.  How I got over them.  I promise you, it was not without help.  I am ready to be vulnerable in Setting Up Stella.  Maybe someone out there needs to know it’s going to be ok.

I’m Maggie (given name Margaret) but I only let my friends call me that! So I guess we’re friends now. :)

This is a place where we can chat about raising two teenagers and living life to it’s fullest. It’s messy and exhausting, but this life brings with it so much joy. If we can just slow down enough to see it.
